Have you ever sat back, looked around and wondered what you’re doing wrong?
I think we all have seasons like this. Seasons where we have prayed all the right prayers, taken all the right steps, and done all the right things but you still aren’t where you want to be? Maybe it’s even a good thing you are longing for. Maybe it’s a Godly husband, a college degree (still working on that over here), a good job, christian friends, or even to hold a baby in your arms.
These are good things to desire! Surely, if we haven’t gotten them by now, we’re doing something totally wrong, right? WRONG!
You see sister, it’s never been about us. The seasons we live through, the struggles we face, and the lessons we learn are always to mold us into the women that God needs us to be to fulfill our purpose that He put us here for.
Let’s take Job for example: He didn’t do anything wrong yet he lost everything! His friends tried to accuse him and tell him to turn against God. But he didn’t! Know what happened? At his lowest of lows, he had a personal encounter with God. He said “I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.” (Job 42:5)
You see- sometimes God has to show us just how much we need Him. And some seasons are solely for that purpose. If everything always went exactly to our plan all of the time, human nature would kick in. We would go about our lives and forget to lean on God. Sometimes we hit rock bottom and there is nothing to do but to throw our trust on God. That is when He picks us up and carries us to the right place. As soon as we put our trust in Him, He will take us so much further than we could ever take ourselves.
So through these seasons of longing, loneliness, waiting and maybe even confusion – keep your heart and ears open. God is always in the business of growing us and teaching us, when we let Him. No season of your life is ever a waste. No season is ever out of God’s control. God will always turn your tears into your testimony and your mess into your message.
You see- after Job’s personal encounter with God he repented for trying to understand through his human knowledge. And do you know what God did? He gave him twice as much as he had before.
That is the God we serve. He isn’t going to take something away from you and give you less. So keep standing on that faith. You’ve got this, lady.
